Warm Rooms in January, Cool Bedrooms in July

Medway has everything from antique homes in Medway Village and Rabbit Hill to subdivisions built since the 1970s, and plenty of them still heat with oil. Our Franklin shop sits about 15 minutes from Medway center, so a licensed technician can reach you quickly and price the work before starting.

Cooling and heat pump work

Cooling and Heat Pump Service in Medway, MA

Older homes in Medway Village were built long before central air, while plenty of newer neighborhoods now have systems reaching 20 to 25 years old. This summer we priced replacements for window units in a two-story home and for a three-zone system that had reached 25 years.

New AC and Heat Pump Installs

We size each system to the rooms it serves before we quote. For a two-story house cooled by window units, that usually means a ductless heat pump layout. For a house with three aging zones, it means matching each new air handler and condenser to the floor it cools.

Fast AC Repair

When one of two outdoor units stops working, part of the house warms up fast. That was a June call in Medway, where one compressor would not start. We test the compressor, capacitor and controls, explain what failed, and give you the price before any repair.

Air Conditioner Tune-Ups

A tune-up in late spring or early summer cleans the coils and blower, tests the capacitor and contactor, and checks the refrigerant charge. Many manufacturers require yearly service to keep warranty coverage, and a visit before the first heat wave costs less than an emergency call in July.

Furnaces, boilers and oil heat

Heating in Medway, MA: Gas, Oil and Heat Pumps

Medway homes run on gas, oil, propane and heat pumps, and oil heat is still common in town. We service and replace every one of those systems.

Heating Installation & Replacement in Medway, MA

New Furnaces and Boilers

A furnace with a damaged heat exchanger needs replacing, not repairing. This fall a tune-up found pinholes in a 14-year-old Medway furnace, and a week later we installed a new Trane two-stage furnace. If you are moving off oil, we can price gas where it runs or a cold climate heat pump.

Furnace and Boiler Repair

A furnace fan that will not shut off, a burner that will not light, a boiler losing pressure. In September a Medway homeowner heard the blower running nonstop from a bedroom and shut the system off at the switch, and we priced a replacement that same day. Repairs are always quoted before we start.

Furnace and Boiler Tune-Ups

A fall tune-up includes a combustion test and a carbon monoxide check, and we look closely at the heat exchanger. In October that check turned up cracks in a 28-year-old Medway furnace, and our technician advised the homeowners to keep it off until it was replaced.

Our no-heat line runs day and night through the winter. Quotes for new systems are free.

Plumbing and gas lines

Plumbing, Gas Lines and Water Heaters in Medway, MA

Our plumbers work alongside our heating crews, so the boiler, water heater and gas piping in a Medway basement can be handled in one visit. This year a Medway homeowner with gas already at the house asked us to price a gas line for switching from an electric range.

Tanked & Tankless Water Heaters

Water Heaters, Tank or Tankless

Navien and Rinnai tankless units or a standard tank, sized to how many showers run at once in your house. Medway homes on town water and on private wells need different care, so we check yours first and include the gas, venting and drain work in one written quote.

Bathrooms, Kitchens and Gas Appliances

Faucets, toilets, dishwashers and remodel rough-ins, plus gas piping for ranges and dryers. Part of Medway runs on town sewer and part on septic, so we confirm which you have before planning drains or a disposal, and you get the price in writing first.

Wiring and air quality

Panels, Wiring and Air Quality in Medway, MA

New furnaces and heat pumps need safe, code-compliant power, and older Medway basements often fall short. Our electricians work on the same jobs as our HVAC installers, which keeps the wiring and the equipment on one schedule.

Electrical Service & Panel Upgrades in Medway, MA

Panels, Circuits and Furnace Wiring

On both Medway furnace replacements this fall, our electrician rebuilt the furnace power: a new circuit or enclosure, a service switch and a GFCI outlet, then a voltage check before startup. We handle panel upgrades for heat pumps and EV chargers the same way, with the permit pulled.

Healthier Air at Home

Dust, stale rooms and dry winter air usually point back to the duct system. We add filtration, humidity control and fresh air ventilation sized to your existing equipment, whether the house is a tight newer build or an older home that drafts.

Failed heat exchanger found at a tune-up

A September tune-up camera check showed pinholes in four of five heat exchanger tubes on a 14-year-old gas furnace. The homeowners reviewed the photos and chose replacement, and a new Trane two-stage furnace went in on October 1 with new wiring from our electrician.

The blower on this furnace ran nonstop and could be heard from a bedroom, so the system was shut off at the switch. We priced a replacement the same day, installed the new furnace over two days in September, and ran a fresh circuit with a service switch.

Questions

Medway Homeowner Questions

Phone (508) 301-3470, day or night. Our Franklin shop is about 15 minutes from Medway center, with our Newton shop as backup. Winter evenings are the busiest time, so let the dispatcher know if the house is cooling down quickly or if someone at home has health concerns.

Most replacements and installs do. The Town of Medway Building Department issues building, sheet metal, gas, plumbing and wiring permits, and one furnace change can involve two or three of them. State rules require a licensed contractor to pull them, so we file the permits and stay through the inspections.

The fuel, the type of equipment and how much existing ductwork or piping we can reuse. Swapping a gas furnace on good ductwork costs less than replacing an oil boiler or converting a three-zone house to heat pumps. We measure first and give you the full price in writing, permits included.

Ductless heat pumps are the common choice, with wall or ceiling units in the rooms you use most and one outdoor unit serving several of them. They replace window units well and also heat in winter. Small duct systems are an option for older Village homes with some closet or attic space.

Yes. Oil heat is still common in Medway, and we service, repair and replace oil furnaces and boilers. When an oil system is near the end, we can price a new oil unit, a switch to gas where it is on your street, or a heat pump.

They can. An air source heat pump that meets the program rules can qualify for Mass Save rebates and the 0% HEAT Loan. The amount depends on whether the heat pump becomes your main heat, what fuel it replaces and your household income. Rebate levels change each year, so we confirm the current figures for your project first.

Yes. Our HVAC installers, plumbers and electricians are one company, so a Medway project like a new furnace with new wiring, or a heat pump that needs a panel upgrade, stays on one quote and one schedule.
