Air Conditioning for Medfield Homes
Some Medfield houses have forced hot air ducts but were never set up for central air, and others are running tired systems. This summer we handled both, adding cooling to a home that never had it and replacing a worn condenser at another.

New and Replacement AC
In June we added central air to a Medfield home that only had forced hot air, setting a 2.5 ton Trane condenser on a new pad and fitting a cooling coil on the existing furnace. Our electrician ran a new dedicated circuit and a disconnect with built-in surge protection.
- Cooling coils added to existing furnaces
- Ductless heads for rooms with no ducts
- Compact high velocity duct systems
- Cold climate heat pumps for year round use
- Sizing worked out for every room
- Town permits and inspections arranged
AC Repair Service
When cooling stops, we send the closer crew from Newton or Franklin, often the same day. Recent Medfield repairs included an outdoor fan that quit on a first floor unit and a failed temperature sensor, both found with testing and repaired, with the price explained before any part went in.
- Vents blowing warm instead of cold
- Outdoor fan not spinning
- Ice building up on the coil
- Water around the furnace or air handler
- Breakers or fuses tripping
- Every major equipment brand

Seasonal AC Service
A spring service visit keeps a central air system or heat pump running through August. We clean the coils, check refrigerant pressures and amperage, and test capacitors and contactors, then hand you a written report. Many of our Medfield members have two systems, and both get the full visit.
- Evaporator and condenser coils washed
- Refrigerant pressures read and logged
- Amp draw checked on the compressor
- Condensate pump and drain tested
- Thermostat operation confirmed
- Written findings left with you

Furnaces, Boilers and Heat Pumps in Medfield
Gas, oil and propane all heat homes in Medfield, through furnaces, hot water boilers and heat pumps. Our technicians repair and replace every one of them, including older boilers that have been running for decades.

Heating Replacement
This fall we serviced a 46 year old boiler in a Medfield home and priced its replacement along with a new water heater. When a system is that old, we size the new one to the house, and if you want off oil or propane we will compare a gas conversion with a heat pump.
- Efficient gas furnaces
- Gas and oil fired boilers
- Oil to natural gas conversions
- Cold climate heat pumps for winter heat
- Radiant floors and ductless systems
- Haul away of old units plus permits
Heating Repair
A furnace that will not light or a boiler that keeps losing pressure gets a technician from whichever of our shops is closer. We test before we replace anything, and the no heat line answers through the night all winter.
- Night and weekend no heat service
- Ignition and flame sensing problems
- Thermostat and wiring faults
- Circulator pumps that have failed
- Pressure dropping in the boiler
- Frozen condensate drains in cold snaps

Furnace and Boiler Maintenance
Our fall heating service includes a combustion test, a carbon monoxide check and a look at the heat exchanger on every gas, oil and propane system. On a high efficiency Weil-McLain gas boiler in Medfield this month, the visit also included the indirect water heater it feeds.
- Combustion test with printed results
- Carbon monoxide level checked
- Heat exchanger looked over closely
- Burners cleaned and tuned
- Safety switches verified
- Flue pipe and venting inspected
Furnace or boiler out in Medfield?
Our no heat line stays open overnight in the cold months, and estimates on replacements cost nothing.
Plumbing and Water Heaters in Medfield
Medfield runs its own water system from town wells, and some homes are on sewer while others use septic. Our plumbers check which you have before they plan a job, and since we also service boilers, one visit can cover the heating side and the plumbing side together.

Water Heater Service
In June a water heater less than two years old flooded a Medfield basement, and our emergency plumbing team took care of it. We repair and replace tank heaters, install Navien and Rinnai tankless units, and include the gas line, venting and drain work in the price.
- Tank water heaters replaced
- Navien and Rinnai tankless installs
- Gas piping sized to fit
- Indirect tanks fed by your boiler
- Annual flushing and descaling
- Plumbing permits pulled
Kitchen, Bath and Fixture Plumbing
New faucets, toilets, showers and remodel rough-ins are priced in writing before work begins. Whether your Medfield home is tied into town sewer or a septic system changes what can go in, so we confirm it at the first visit.
- Faucet and sink swaps
- Toilet and shower installs
- Disposals where sewer allows
- Lines for dishwashers and ice makers
- Rough plumbing for renovations
- Leaks and slow drains repaired

Electrical Service and Indoor Air in Medfield
Adding central air or a heat pump usually means new wiring, and older panels do not always have room. Our licensed electricians work alongside our HVAC crews, so the circuit, the disconnect and the equipment are planned as one job.

Electrical Service and Panels
On the Medfield central air project this summer, our electrician added a dedicated circuit from the existing 200 amp panel and installed an outdoor disconnect with built-in surge protection. When breakers or GFCI outlets keep tripping, we trace which loads share the circuit, from sump pumps to dehumidifiers.
- Panel upgrades up to 200 amps
- New circuits for AC and heat pumps
- EV charger circuits installed
- Surge protected disconnects
- GFCI and breaker troubleshooting
- Permits and inspections included
Indoor Air Quality Solutions
Better filtration, a humidifier or fresh air ventilation can make a Medfield home feel cleaner and less dry in winter, and we connect each one to the furnace or air handler you already have. This summer we installed a homeowner’s own humidifier and thermostat alongside their new central air at no charge.
- High efficiency filter cabinets
- UV lamps at the coil
- Whole house humidifiers
- Basement dehumidification
- Fresh air ventilators
- Sealing leaky ductwork

Heat pump on your list?
We price the heat pump and any wiring it needs on a single estimate.
Medfield Projects From This Year
Three Medfield jobs our crews finished in 2026, shown in photos taken during the work.

Central air added to a forced hot air home
This home had ducts for heat but no air conditioning. In June we installed a 2.5 ton Trane condenser on a new pad, added a cooling coil to the existing furnace, and our electrician ran a dedicated circuit and a surge protected disconnect.

A worn condenser replaced with a new Trane
In early June we swapped an aging outdoor unit for a new 2.5 ton Trane condenser, checked the refrigerant charge with digital gauges, and replaced the outdoor disconnect with one that includes surge protection.

Annual service on a high efficiency gas boiler
On a Medfield maintenance visit this fall, our team serviced a Weil-McLain ECO Tec gas boiler and the indirect tank it uses to make hot water, checking pressures, safety controls and the piping around both.

Medfield Homeowner Questions
Dial (508) 301-3470 at any hour of the day. Medfield sits about 25 minutes from both our Newton and Franklin shops, so the closer crew takes the call. In July our emergency team answered a Medfield call where three ductless wall units and a ceiling cassette all stopped overnight, which is exactly what the line is for.
Usually, yes. The Town of Medfield Building Department issues building, sheet metal, electrical, plumbing and gas permits, and replacing one heating system can involve several of them. State law says a licensed contractor pulls them, not the homeowner, so we handle the filing and the inspections from start to finish.
We look at the fuel, the type of system and how much of the existing ductwork or piping can stay. Adding central air to a home with forced hot air ducts, as we did in Medfield this June, costs less than a full heat pump conversion. Either way, you get a written price before work starts.
Homes heated by a boiler and baseboard usually do best with ductless mini splits, where one outdoor unit serves several indoor heads. Compact high velocity duct systems are another route when there is room in closets or the attic. Heat pump versions of both keep working through the winter as well.
In many cases, yes. We service oil, gas and propane boilers, including one in Medfield this fall that had been running for 46 years. We will tell you honestly whether a boiler has more good seasons in it, and when it is time to plan a replacement, we give you options in writing.
Air source heat pumps that meet the program rules can earn Mass Save rebates and the 0% HEAT Loan. How much depends on whether the heat pump becomes your main heat or works alongside your current system, what fuel you use now, and your household income. We check the current amounts before you commit.

Yes. Our own plumbers and electricians work alongside our HVAC technicians, so a project like new central air, which needed a dedicated circuit and an outdoor disconnect in Medfield this summer, stays with one company from estimate to final inspection.
